The Kossuth Award winning artists selected his programme from Liszt’s compositions, however, in an indirect way it is also connected to two other masters celebrating their anniversary this year: Verdi and Wagner. He will play the brilliant paraphrase based on the quartet from Rigoletto and also the Pilgrim’s chorus from Tannhäuser in Liszt’s beautiful transcription. The most significant piece of the Years of Pilgrimage cycle of the composer, Obermann’s Valley is a piano piece with symphonic dimensions, while the concert will be rounded up after the intermission by his other grandiose masterpiece, the Sonata in H Minor.
