Couple of years ago the success of anevening with movies soundtracks gaveus the idea to present once again thebest-known pieces of music in film history.This concert is also an excellent opportunity to pay tribute to WilliamFox, the founder of the FOX studios, who was born 100 years ago in Tolcsva.

Beside the most famous blockbusters certain Classical compositions willconstitute the programme of the concert, which underline some of themost determining moments in the movies. The musical performance ofthe grandiose apparatus is complemented by quotations from the respectivefilms. As star-guest of the evening we shall welcome the worldfamousviolin virtuoso, Roby Lakatos, who is equally familiar with thestyles of jazz, Classical music and Hungarian coffee-shop music.

Iván Fischer was requested by the Berlin Konzerthaus to compose an opera for children based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s world-famous picture book, The Gruffalo. The humorous opera now premieres in Hungary in translation by Ádám Nádasdy. The production is recommended for children between the ages of 3 and 10.
