TALE. DANCE. IMAGES.
The first piece of the concert is connected to a Rimsky-Korsakov opera from which the only piece known to the wider audience is the character movement entitled the ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’. Hence, in the scope of this event, an opportunity presents itself to discover other excerpts from this wonderful work. Romanian baritone Mihai Damian performs one of the most original song cycles of the 19th century, Musorgsky’s ‘Songs and Dances of Death’.
In 2024, at the 6th International Éva Marton Singing Competition, Mihai Damian won the second prize and an opportunity to perform with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and in the Palace of Arts. Mihai Damian was a student of Cristian Hodrea and Iulia Suciu, and attended master classes held – among others – by Ramón Vargas and Ruxandra Donose. She has been awarded prizes at the Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino and Verum Solitus singing competitions. He received the following prizes: first prize at the Mozart International Music Competition in Cluj-Napoca, Grand Prize of Alexandru Fărcaș Singing Competition and the prize of the Cluj-Napoca Hungarian Opera.
