Az ókor egyik legnagyobb hőse, Thészeusz, tizenhat évesen elindul Athénba, hogy megismerje édesapját, a királyt. Útja során hírhedt rablókkal, marcona tolvajokkal, alvilági állatokkal küzd meg. Furfangos eszével és bátorságával mindegyiket legyőzi, és amikor azt hiszi, hogy végre megpihenhet apja palotájában, és talán ehet is valamit, kiderül, hogy a legnagyobb feladat még hátra van: le kell győznie a labirintusi szörnyet, Minotauroszt, aki rettegésben tartja Athént. És micsoda szerencse! Nem téved el az útvesztőben, hiszen segíti őt a krétai királylány, Ariadné aranyfonala….
