Erika Náray and special guest: Andrea Fullajtár  / JAZZ FANS

According to Andrea Fullajtár, acting is about working within the boundaries of the profession to combate most essential problem of our times, the decline of human relationships. Fullajtár has a strong personality, though it has been altered and softened by motherhood. One of the most charismatic actresses in Hungary, Fullajtár has been performing at the Katona József Theatre for 23 years, a place where her work has coincided with both family tragedy and the joy of giving birth. She teaches at the Budapest Academy of Drama and Film and has starred in several cult Hungarian films.

When she was 20, she rejected the chance to go to perform in France as she felt she wouldn't be able to express herself as well in French as she does in Hungarian. By her own admission, as a novice actress it was difficult for her to recognise that she was already a mature figure, who since the very beginning of her career has been synonymous predominantly with deep and tragic roles. She made her debut at the Katona in 1996 in the play Csendet akarok (I Want Peace) - as a 25-year-old she began her career by playing a 42-year-old homeless woman. She found success with a role in The Talisman, though this success was accompanied by a series of pivotal events in her private life. Though she performed in the play for ten years, she lost her father during the casting process and was taken out of the show for a period after the birth of her son. She believes that failures are an important learning tool for people, 'as you always experience failure when there is a part of your personality that needs polishing.'

Audience members, who will be able to take their seats at the Bohemian Event Venue from 6 pm, receive a welcome drink and can enjoy dinner before or after the concert.
