Cimbalom Unlimited, Miklós Lukács’s newest album, came out early this year. “My intentions were twofold,” said Lukács, “as I wanted to show as many of the sounds of the cimbalom as possible, as well as to suggest it is an instrument for the 21st century. I wanted to evoke the past to represent the present, and to probe into the future with my own musical ideas.” Critics were enthusiastic: “the album is probably a turning point in Lukács’s career. It brims with the elemental energy of a creative will ready to do anything,” wrote Attila Németh.

Multiple Grammy Award nominee Eric Harland is the most sought-after drummer of his generation, having already contributed to over 200 recordings. He has shared the stage with the likes of Betty Carter, Joe Henderson, McCoy Tyner, Michael Brecker, Terence Blanchard, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, and Wayne Shorter.

Third partner on the bass is one of New York’s most sought-after musicians, Harish Raghavan, who also maintains a very busy teaching schedule.

An event jointly organized by Budapest Music Center.
